About Exploding Ideas

Exploding Ideas was founded by Eric Lam in 2023. He built it around a simple observation: search data shows you where demand is moving before the market notices, and most people reading that data stop at the trend instead of asking what it makes possible.

I was a reader first. Then a fan, the kind who forwards editions to people who did not ask for them. Now I run it.

The publication is mine. I have tried to honour the thesis, make it sharper, and make the method grow. What has not changed is the starting point: real signal, checked, not opinion dressed as insight.

What we do

Most trend coverage stops at the graph. We are after the economy the graph creates.

When a technology, a regulation, a demographic shift or a change in behaviour arrives, it does not just create demand for one product. It creates a customer who did not exist a year ago, and around that customer an entire layer of businesses becomes possible. That is the thing worth finding, and it is findable early if you are willing to read the signal properly.

So each week we take one shift, establish why it is happening now rather than five years ago, and map what can be built around it. Then we do the part almost nobody does, which is asking which of those businesses is actually worth your time.

What we will not do

We do not publish ideas we have not checked. We do not use forecasts without a source. We do not recycle the same forty ideas with a new headline. We do not pretend the window stays open forever. Most of these do not.

Who writes it

Ian Park, editor. Alongside the editions and articles I write, contributors will publish here under the Exploding Ideas Team byline: people whose work I know and who have something worth adding.

How it is published

Two sends a week. Sunday is free and goes to everyone. Tuesday is the deep dive and goes to paid subscribers. Articles on this site sit underneath both, organised as five stages from signal to revenue.
