The reason most Depop calculators are wrong
Depop charged a 10% selling fee for years, and almost every guide, blog post and calculator online still applies it. It was removed for UK sellers in March 2024 and US sellers in July 2024.
If you have been pricing with a 10% deduction in mind, you have been underpricing your margin rather than overpricing your items, which is the less painful of the two errors but still an error.
What replaced it as the main deduction is payment processing, charged on the item price plus shipping rather than on the item alone. That detail matters more than the percentage: postage you charge the buyer sits inside the base the percentage is applied to.

The fixed fee is what hurts small sales
The percentage gets the attention and the fixed component does the damage. On a low-value item the flat fee alone can exceed the percentage, which is why selling cheap single items is close to unprofitable and why bundling two items into one transaction is worth doing: the fixed fee applies once instead of twice.
